# Connect Claude Code

Connect Claude Code to Intangible's Model Context Protocol (MCP) server with one command, then build 3D scenes from the terminal.

Connect Claude Code to Intangible by adding Intangible's Model Context Protocol (MCP) server with a single command, then authenticating. The server URL is `https://mcp.intangible.ai/mcp`.

## Before you connect Claude Code

You need an Intangible account and Claude Code installed. Sign up for Intangible at [studio.intangible.ai](https://studio.intangible.ai/?utm_source=help.intangible.ai\&utm_medium=docs\&utm_campaign=inline-link\&utm_content=connect-claude-code) if needed – see [Sign up and set up](/get-started/sign-up-and-set-up.md). Confirm Claude Code is installed with `claude --version`.

## Claude Code: add the Intangible server

1. In a terminal, run:

   ```bash
   claude mcp add --transport http --scope user intangible https://mcp.intangible.ai/mcp
   ```

   `--scope user` makes Intangible available in every project on your machine. Use `--scope project` instead to add it only in the current working directory.
2. Confirm it registered:

   ```bash
   claude mcp list
   ```

   `intangible` appears in the list.
3. Quit any running Claude Code session, then start a new one with `claude`.

## Claude Code: sign in to Intangible

1. Inside Claude Code, run `/mcp`.
2. Select **intangible**, then choose to authenticate.
3. A browser tab opens on an Intangible page that reads **Claude Code is requesting access to your Intangible account**. Click **Approve access**.
4. Back in `/mcp`, **intangible** shows as connected.

## Claude Code: check the connection

1. Open a project in Studio at [studio.intangible.ai](https://studio.intangible.ai/?utm_source=help.intangible.ai\&utm_medium=docs\&utm_campaign=inline-link\&utm_content=connect-claude-code), or skip this and let Claude create one.
2. Ask Claude Code:

   > Use Intangible to create a project and add a red cube to the scene.
3. A Studio window opens in your browser and the cube lands in the scene. If the agent reports no open project, ask it to create one first.

Keep the Studio tab open while you work. Then [describe your first scene](/intangible-mcp-agents/intangible-mcp-agents.md#describe-your-first-scene).

## Using Grok Build too

Grok Build reads the servers you added to Claude Code, so Intangible shows up there without another `add`. You still sign in to Intangible once inside Grok Build. See [xAI Grok](/intangible-mcp-agents/connect-grok.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.intangible.ai/intangible-mcp-agents/anthropic-claude/connect-claude-code.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
