# Connect Claude

Connect Claude (claude.ai, Claude Desktop and Claude mobile) to Intangible's Model Context Protocol (MCP) server as a custom connector, then build 3D scenes from a chat.

Connect Claude to Intangible by adding Intangible's Model Context Protocol (MCP) server as a custom connector. Add it once and it works on claude.ai, Claude Desktop and Claude mobile. The server URL is `https://mcp.intangible.ai/mcp`.

## Before you connect Claude

You need an Intangible account and a Claude account. Sign up for Intangible at [studio.intangible.ai](https://studio.intangible.ai/?utm_source=help.intangible.ai\&utm_medium=docs\&utm_campaign=inline-link\&utm_content=connect-claude-desktop) if you don't have an account – see [Sign up and set up](/get-started/sign-up-and-set-up.md).

On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds the connector for the whole organization. Members then skip to **Connect** below. If you don't see an **Intangible** connector and can't add one, ask an Owner.

## Claude: add the Intangible connector

1. In Claude, open **Customize › Connectors**. (Settings › Connectors now points here.)
2. Click **Add** and choose to add a custom connector.
3. Set the name to **Intangible** and the URL to `https://mcp.intangible.ai/mcp`.

## Claude: connect and approve access

1. Find **Intangible** under **Yours** and click **Connect**.
2. An Intangible page opens: **Claude is requesting access to your Intangible account**. Click **Approve access**.
3. Claude shows **Connected to Intangible** and lists the Intangible tools.

## Claude: allow the Intangible tools

Every Intangible tool starts on **Needs approval**, so Claude stops and asks before each step. A scene build has many steps.

1. Open **Customize › Connectors** and click **Intangible**.
2. Find the tool permissions list. Set **Other tools** to **Always allow**, or allow the tools one by one.
3. Close the panel. The setting applies to new chats on claude.ai, Claude Desktop and Claude mobile.

## Claude: verify the connection

Keep a Studio tab open, then send:

> Use Intangible to add a red cube to the scene in my open Studio tab.

Claude loads Intangible's orientation first, then places the cube. Keep the Studio tab open while you work, because the agent edits your live scene. On a larger scene the viewport stays empty for the first couple of minutes while the agent searches the asset library.

Once the cube lands, [describe your first scene](/intangible-mcp-agents/intangible-mcp-agents.md#describe-your-first-scene).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.intangible.ai/intangible-mcp-agents/anthropic-claude/connect-claude-desktop.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
